Do I need an iPhone to use Inspecto?
For DIY scanning, yes — an iPhone Pro (12 Pro or later) with LiDAR is required. For professional inspections, no — GerardusKoetje brings the equipment.
How accurate are the scans?
LiDAR scans are accurate to within 0.5% of actual dimensions — typically ±1-2 centimeters on a 3-meter wall. Good enough for floor plans, furniture placement, and renovation estimates.
What’s the difference between DIY and Pro?
DIY (€29.95/mo) gives you the 3D scan editor, renovation planning, and furniture catalogue. Pro (€499 setup + €199/mo) adds moisture measurements, 84-point inspection checklist, PDF reports, risk score, time capsule, and white-label branding.
Can I use Inspecto outside Central Portugal?
The software works globally. Professional on-site inspections by GerardusKoetje cover Central Portugal (100km around Fundão) and beyond on request.
Is this a replacement for a professional building survey?
No. Inspecto is a visual inspection tool. For legal or insurance purposes (structural engineering reports, mortgage surveys), you need a certified structural engineer. Our reports document visible condition only.
How long does an inspection take?
On-site: 2-4 hours depending on property size. Report delivery: within 48 hours. A DIY scan with your iPhone takes 5-10 minutes per room.
What languages are supported?
Reports and checklists are available in English, Dutch (Nederlands), and Portuguese (Português). The interface is currently English-only.
How do I share a report with my agent or contractor?
Pro users can generate shareable 3D links that anyone can view in a browser — no account required. They see the 3D model, inspection findings, and can pin comments.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is kept for 30 days after cancellation in case you reactivate. After 30 days it’s permanently deleted. You can export all your models and reports before cancelling.
Can I import an existing scan from another app?
Currently we only support scans from the Inspecto iOS app. Support for GLB/OBJ imports is on the roadmap.
